I guess I get to play lumberjack today. The wet snow tore a large branch off a tree and ripped some rain gutter from the garage. Hope I look good in a plaid flannel shirt.

In case you missed it on 60 Minutes, this is what Andy Rooney thinks about women over 40:

As I grow in age, I value women over 40 most of all.

Here are just a few reasons why:

A woman over 40 will never wake you in the middle of the night and ask, 'What are you thinking?' She doesn't care what you think.
If a woman over 40 doesn't want to watch the game, she doesn't sit around whining about it. She does something she wants to do, and it's usually more interesting.
Women over 40 are dignified. They seldom have a screaming match with you at the opera or in the middle of an expensive restaurant. Of course, if you deserve it, they won't hesitate to shoot you if they think they can get away with it.
Older women are generous with praise, often undeserved. They know what it's like to be unappreciated.
Women get psychic as they age. You never have to confess your sins to a woman over 40. Once you get past a wrinkle or two, a woman over 40 is far sexier than her younger counterpart.
Older women are forthright and honest. They'll tell you right off if you are a jerk if you are acting like one. You don't ever have to wonder where you stand with her.
Yes, we praise women over 40 for a multitude of reasons.
Unfortunately, it's not reciprocal. For every stunning, smart,
well-coiffed, hot woman over 40, there is a bald, paunchy relic in
yellow pants making a fool of himself with some 22-year old waitress.
Ladies, I apologize.
For all those men who say, 'Why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?', here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire pig just to get a little sausage!

With all the sadness and trauma going on in the world at the moment, it is worth reflecting on the death of a very important person, which almost went unnoticed last week. Larry LaPrise, the man who wrote "The Hokey Pokey", died peacefully at age 93. The most traumatic part for his family was getting him into the coffin. They put his left leg in. And then the trouble started.

Dinner was just the right hot...made a steak stir-fry.
The fireplace is glowing...nice dry oak burning slow and hot.

So.........you remember that icy driveway I mentioned. Well despite shuffling down it like a 90 year old to get the mail I still fell on my ass. It was one of those instantaneous things, one moment your vertical the next your not. And not in that positive manner of moving from vertical to horizontal. Sigh, I want spring...or sex.

What was wet and slippery yesterday is hard as a rock today. The driveway makes a perfect ice rink...oh, wait...I can't skate. I'm sure someone is going to need a butt rub before too many more trips to the mailbox.

Last night better have been the final significant snow of the season. My snow blower was clearly signally that it is done and ready to be retired forever.
Can anyone recommend a snow blower that they think is best?

It has been ages since I posted. Ages for other things as well. I've been hitting the gym regularly but can't wait for bicycle season again.
I'm hoping to get out on the town next Saturday. Need to satisfy a bit of spring fever. Break the mold as it were. How about you?
