Well 2022 has started off with a bang! I have keys to a new apartment already..YAY! Took long enough to find some steady housing for sure! Now i have an appointment with my support worker in the AM to see if they can help with getting my stuff moved for me. She said that there's money there & that i do qualify for help so i have my fingers crossed....
On a side-note, i would like to wish a belated X-mas & New Year's to everyone just in case people thought i may have missed it! Generally i do not observe the holidays anymore & haven't for a long time! Generally i only give the standard Christian greetings but for others: Happy Hanuka, Happy Quanza, Happy Holidays, & whoever else i may have forgotten lol!
Also, I would rather like to start the new year by asking people to READ & FOLLOW the directions i have put just about everywhere that i can think of? I am a STANDARD MEMBER....i CANNOT read your mail unless you friend me & allow me to see your content i think? Orit's simply friend me!
It's really NOT that difficult really as i have had others find & reach out to me through these various means already! I get frustrated seeing mail that i cannot read or reply to from Gold members who think that anyone can read their mail! If people keep doing it i'm just going to trash them as i cannot read them anyway lol! Seems fair enough to me lol! The ones who want to talk to me have already made the effort & found me lol!

I was living in SW Edmonton just off Ellerslie Rd & was due to move to the NW around the 5th of this month with my roommate. Nothing forced, we were just upgrading to a newer bigger place. Well, 3 days before the move he informed me that he had a new GF with 2 & could i please find somewhere else to move to?
After the shock settled i asked what was going to happen if i couldn't find a place to stay? He just looked at me blankly & said " i dunno what tell , i wish i did" He then told me i had until the 5th to find a place...meanwhile was the 2nd already. I put up a few ads looking for a place & explained my situation & my finances(i'm on a limited budget)
I found out sadly & shockingly that a lot of people do NOT return messages when you try enquire about their rental properties! I was mortified! I viewed 1 room which was well within my budget but it turned out be a storage room...the said they had roaches, bed-bugs & mice...i felt like i needed a tetanus shot just looking at the place! The pile of dirty dishes all over the counter & the over-flowing garbage just added the "ambience" along with the beautiful aroma of rotting stuff! Can't imagine why they had bug issues?
Next one contacted me wanted "work out" a rental agreement. I told him i wasn't particularly intrested in being his "sweet thang" or having to trade my ass for a place to rent. I told him that if i got down to freezing to death or whatever that i would keep his offer in mind lol!
Lots of unreturned calls, a few "oh the room isn't ready yet" but they were the ones replying to my ad? Several couldn't read thought i was renting out a room cheap, and finally a landlord took a deposit to secure the place but failed to follow through & now i'm fighting to get my back! Meanwhile i ran out of time & some near dear friends offered come get me & give me a safe place live! 's in Red Deer, Alberta but 's way better then being homeless & freezing!
Like does that another human being? Then on top of i spent 3 days mudding, sanding, painting & rewired the island in his kitchen & never got for the work i did! He said he let me stay in the empty apartment for free....that was my payment! I told him i was about to turn squatter but my friends came & got me in the meantime lol!
Moral of the story: don't put a lot of trust or faith in people to do the right thing anymore these days!

"living" in Edmonton...at first things were ok...more & more the roommate wants me to be a "slave" i feel....wakes me up w/e they get up regardless of my sleep pattern...tells me what to "do" around the house....expects me to cook & clean....lol! I cook / clean when I want to! I'm NOT able to work but that doesn't mean that i can be bossed around either! He doesn't work either...spends his time rounding up "free stuff" then tries to sell it! Expects me to take pics, measurements,etc to sell it for him...gets mad if i don't! LOL!
Sorry to vent...i was homeless before this...almost looking at doing that again just to be rid of the damn stress of it all! Initially it was supposed to be a relationship, within the first week he had someone come over & he got "involved" with them because they offered! Since then i've been "living" on the couch as i should be! I STILL have yet to retrieve the other half of my belongings because he's "too busy" ....running out of patience i think? Or perhaps i'm just being overly sensitive? What do you folks think?

All this over-cast weather is wreaking havoc on my body with aches & pains! I hate when the pressure changes all the time...keeps me in constant pain & makes life more difficult!

Haven't had a chance to dress as "lola" yet since i moved to Edmonton. always seem to have something come up or something on the go. The roommate is constantly having me take pictures & place ads for stuff he wants to sell online. The only problem with that is people don't read fully, so i wind up having to deal with the people myself! I told him i'm going to start charging him for doing all the "selling" of HIS stuff lol! Can only put up with so much right lol!

While i've been fortunate keep my room where i was renting for the last few months, i must admit it can be frustrating having roomates as is very little privacy per say. YES i have my own room with a door, but the house has 1 bathroom on the main floor whereas i am on the 2nd floor lol! The roomates are str8 & i don't believe they have any idea of my dressing.....that being said, i miss having the freedom dress & roam the house at my leisure at times. I forward the future where i will have my own space of some kind again or moving a place where i could be free dress/not dress as i choose!
Anyway....that's enough rambling from me for the time being. I've been trying get into the center but doesn't seem want load today for some reason? I can see that i have a waiting too which makes it even more frustrating lol!

Being a Standard member (who does NOT own a credit card) i've been trying to enter as many contests & give aways in order to earn free points or win an upgrade! I HAVE recieved some mails that i have been able to read...such as from people who have hotlisted me or from people who have open profiles! I try to watch for people on the IM but sometimes even when i do try to chat on there either people are busy, not talking back or are logged on to IM but are simply not there?
With that in mind, i'm going to attempt to provide some direct contact details if people are serious about chatting with me! I can be reached at alta_lola at that crazy yahoo place from years past! I check it often & am usually quick to reply when i recieve notification of having mail...try it out if instrested & IF this actually gets posted through! TTFN!

UGH! So i have to find another place the end of the month again....i feel like a square peg trying to be forced into a round hole! It's almost like a frat-house here & i tend to keep to myself, so not really fitting in. Getting a little tired of "adults" who act more like !
hoping that wherever i wind up that the people are decent & can respect the fact that a private person who really isn't intrested in partying every week! I did plenty of that in my 20's & even then it wasn't that much lol! Having friends visit is ok but when it feels like there is a revolving door & constantly seeing new faces makes shake my head!
It would be nice to wind up somewhere where i could just be myself & able to dress whenever i feel like it & possibly even have friends over from time to time. There are so few venues for us gurls to be able to gather at that it's sometimes discouraging & makes alot of us feel lonely from time to time. Thankfully social media can help lessen those feelings via groups & like-minded people to with.

I'm trying my best settle into this new roommate arrangement. First month went by smoothly enough, but had issues with my gov't cheque & roommate turned a bit nasty today. I guess i need to pull up my socks & help out more around the house..normally i just keep to myself to avoid issues but i guess renting a room became helping with house work & yard work as well. *SIGH* w/e it takes to make people happy i guess? Forget the fact that i have a noisy drunk living across the hall from me who continually wakes me up with blaring music! LOL! The joys of roommates!

So my gf of 10 years went to see her & grandkids for xmas/new years ....told me that she wasn't coming back...that's a thoughtful gift to give someone lol. Said she wasn't happy so i guess it's better then staying & being misereable.

How is that Gold members can plainly see that my profile is Standard & yet send me anyway, knowing FULL WELL that i CANNOT read because i am a standard member? LOL! Then on top of that, when i get busy trying to make points by doing stuff & i don't notice the IM notification some people get rude thinking will cause me reply? Every reply costs points...you also have be online for me reply...if i didn't see because i was busy & you get frustrated then that's on you. I think people have remember that some of us are relatively new yet & that kind of aggressive behaviour isn't very becoming. Not everyone has a credit card or can afford drop money for Gold status... takes time raise enough points upgrade where i will have better access. Patience is a virtue folks!
